Memory Making

I have had lots of thoughts this week about God's will for my life and making memories. Yes, seemingly unrelated but as it turns out for me, they are totally intertwined.
In our small group, we have talked a good bit about our place in this life and God's will for us and jobs/careers/"calling". I don't have any doubts in my mind or heart that God put me on this world to work with children in some capacity. At the moment, I am blessed with a "job" that I LOVE. I have the opportunity to teach young minds everyday... yes, reading and writing and multiplication and division but also about our Lord and what He means to me and can mean to them.

As a part of our curriculum this last month of school, we went on a field trip. Field trips are a lot of work for teachers in the beginning but then they always turn out to be a lot of fun! This spring field trip was no exception. It began as an adventure (they normally do) but turned into a day of "memory making" and contemplating for me and Baby S.
Here are a few pictures from our field trip... Fishing with our Dads.

Matthew 4:19 says "Come, follow Me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." The next verse is the one that really struck me this week. Matthew 4:20 says, "At once they left their nets and followed Him."

The two disciples that Jesus is talking to in this passage didn't sit around and contemplate or debate... they simply (and oh so profoundly) dropped everything and followed Jesus. Can I say that I have EVER done that?

Which led to this thought... after 3rd grade is over and these kids have graduated from high school then college... will they remember this special time with their dads?

Will they be able to look back and think about becoming fishers of men for God alongside their dads? That is my hope and prayer... not just for these kids but also for my own child.

Sweetest Face Ever and updates

Baby Stanfield - 20 Weeks

Everyone keeps telling us how we cannot even imagine how much we will love our little blessing but to look at this face... we're beginning to understand.

Just an update... we are settled into our new house and we LOVE it! We are still trying to get everything situated but everything is under one roof (for the first time in our marriage) and it is wonderful! These are pictures from our first Easter at the new house!

We have ordered furniture for Baby S's room and it should be in within the next several weeks. We have begun the registering process (wow! had no idea how much stuff babies need!). I'm feeling good so now we are just waiting patiently for every little kick he or she inflicts so lovingly upon me! It is amazing! (on a side note- I don't know how anyone that has ever had a baby could question God's existance or ability... only He could preform such a miracle!)

First Picture!

We are successfully over "the hump" of this pregnancy and so far... so good! We praise God for His amazing blessings.
Here is the first picture of Baby Stanfield from our Week 9 ultrasound. I'll post our newest picture of Baby S very soon!

Christmas Blessings

This year for Christmas, Jason and I had decided not to splurge since we were in the process of building a new house but rather get things for each other that we needed. Because of this, I had to be creative about how to give him the BIGGEST present ever!

First, I had to make a last minute Target run on Christmas Eve. I picked up the necessary supplies then got back home before Jason thought something was funny. Once I was home, I hid away in the guest room to finish wrapping presents and see if I had one more present to get ready! After holding my breath for what seemed like an eternity (only 3 minutes)...

YES! GOD IS SO GOOD! One last present to wrap!

Fast forward to Christmas morning...

The last present of Christmas morning...

A moment of confusion... "Honey, is there something you want to tell me?"

After many happy tears and lots of hugging... Checking out the "necessities" that were included in the present!

Pacifiers, white, pink, and blue socks... and the positive test!
Thank you Lord!

It was a GREAT Christmas!

Happy Birthday!

Jason and I picked up our first baby last April. We named him Bobby Lambeau (Bobby for Bobby Dodd and Lambeau for the Packers) and call him Beau! He has been the best puppy in the whole world! He is precious and we don't know what we did before him! Yesterday was Beau's 1st Birthday! I never thought I would be one of "those people" but Beau is our baby and we love him! He had an ice cream cake and got rawhide bones for his present! He had so much fun! We nearly had a tragedy because he wanted to eat the lit candle but no worries... it was all good! Happy Birthday Beau!

The Beginning

Since this is our first post, it only makes sense to begin at the beginning!

Jason and I met on a blind date and knew pretty quickly that this was it! We had such an unbelievable time together and everything just clicked... it was meant to be! After several months of dating (and many GT football and basketball games), Jason proposed! I did not see it coming but have never been happier!

Not long after that, we got married at the King and Prince on St. Simons Island! It was the most wonderful day ever! Our family and friends joined us as we became husband and wife!
